Ivette Mayo spent most of her career with a major global airline in marketing, sales, public relations and training. She worked successfully with sales and marketing to integrate culture and language as key components to their successful launch into the Latin American market place. She has an extensive business experiences in selling, branding and marketing products and services has paved the way to create results. As a corporate trainer, she was instrumental in developing training in the area of cultural awareness and effective sales applications.

In 2006, Ivette launched her company, Yo Soy I Am, LLC. Ivette’s goal is to help clients’ reach their fullest potential, bridge cultural differences and discover strategies that directly affect results at all levels. In addition, Ivette has experience with senior level management and has worked with several Fortune 500 companies. She has obtained numerous sales and leadership certifications with prominent training companies. She uses these experiences to coach her clients to develop skills that will help them grow professionally and competitively.

Ivette’s strong commitment to service and community has motivated her to serve on various boards over the years. She served as a board member for the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce, served as the Chair of the Minority Business Council and was part of the Leadership Brandon 2007 Class. Ivette was a board member of the Tampa Bay Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and after her term was on the continued to serve on Advisory Board. Other organizations also served as the 2008 President of the International Business Summit. Ivette is an active member of MANA, Las Comrades de las Americas and Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas.

Ivette has received many acknowledged for her work in the Tampa Bay business community and was a finalist for “Woman of the Year – 2007” and awarded the 2009 Diversity and Inclusion Award Winner by the Tampa Bay Business Journal her work in promoting diversity in today’s marketplace. In 2009, she was appointed by the Honorable Mayor Pam Iorio to serve on the Tampa Bay Equal Business Opportunity Advisory Committee. In September of 2009, Ivette was awarded Latina Style Magazine’s highly coveted Anna Maria Arias Memorial Business Fund Award. Ivette was recently honored by Hispanic Women in Leadership as on of Houston “Top 100 Hispanic Leader”.

In 2007, Ivette started her second company, Yo Soy Expressions. It is a specialty note card business that is inspired by the excellence of “la mujer Latina”. Each design is created by her to commemorate and celebrates the powerful Latina spirit. She has an online store – www.yosoyexpressions.com .

Ivette is a sought after speaker and is often called upon to share a dynamic and motivational message at conferences, meetings, job fairs and multicultural event. Ivette will be presenting at several conferences and events throughout 2010.

Ivette attended San Diego State University, where she pursued a BS in Communication. Ivette is married and has two wonderful daughters. Ivette currently resides in Humble, Texas. Ivette is proud of her body of work throughout the country inspiring positive change in our community!
