
In April 2006, Ivette opened the doors to Yo Soy I Am, LLC, a Cultural Consulting and Training company designed to help companies create greater cultural awareness and develop cultural competencies. Yo Soy Iam, LLC wants to influence results that promote a greater knowledge and acceptance of cultures and respect for diversity. The goal is to help everyone understand different cultural mindsets when approaching customers of different nationalities, helping work groups understand how to effectively work through cultural issues and help business owners understand that creating a marketing campaign is not enough to attract today’s “multicultural community” to their businesses.
Ivette spent most of her career with a major global airline in marketing, sales, public relations and training. She worked successfully with sales and marketing to integrate culture and language as key components to their successful launch into the Latin American. She was instrumental in developing customized training, cultural awareness and effective sales applications. Her knowledge of the international customers lends to her many successes on a global level.
Ivette has an extensive travel background and has conducted training throughout the United States, Asia, Europe, Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. In addition, Ivette has experience senior level management and worked with several Fortune 500 companies. She has obtained numerous sales and leadership certifications with prominent training companies. Ivette has become a contributing writer for local Tampa Bay publications offering advice on cultural business practices and professional development.
Ivette is a sought after Speaker and is often called upon to share a dynamic and energetic message at a conferences, meetings, job fairs and multicultural event.
Ivette is an every active board member of the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce and part of the Leadership Brandon 2007 Class. Ivette has served as a Board Member of the Tampa Bay Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In 2008, was elected President of the International Business Summit. Ivette is active board member of the Hispanic Women Professional Association of Tampa Bay. Ivette has recently is the Co-Chair of the Tampa Chapter of Las Comadres de las Americas.
Ivette was recently acknowledged for her efforts in the community and was a finalist for “Woman of the Year – 2007” and the 2009 Diversity and Inclusion Award Winner by the Tampa Bay Business Journal. Recently Ivette was appointed to serve by Mayor Pam Iorio on the Mayor’s Minority Business Council. Ivette was award the Minority Enterprise Development Corporation of Tampa Bay “2009 Advocacy of the Year” for her efforts helping small businesses in the area.
In 2007, Ivette started her second company, Yo Soy Expressions. It is a specialty note card business and online store – www.yosoyexpressions.com . The products are designed and inspired by the excellence of “la mujer Latina”. Each design reflects our bi-cultural existence and celebrates the powerful Latina spirit. Her online store/products were featured in the December issue of Latina Style. In September of 2009, Ivette was the recipient of Latina Style - the Anna Maria Arias Memorial Business Fund Award. A nationally recognized, respected and coveted business award program for Latina business owners in the United States.
Ivette attended San Diego State University, where she pursued a BS in Communication. Ivette is married and has two wonderful daughters.
